Hey everyone, and welcome to my home away from home – A Seasonal Kitchen. Through this blog, I hope to share my love for food with you through easy, healthy recipes that will warm your heart (and your kitchen).
I have been cooking and baking since I was knee high to a grasshopper. From rolling chocolate chip cookie dough into perfect golf balls to learning how to filet a salmon and de-bone a chicken, my culinary skills have all been a product of cooking with my mom (see below).
I received my BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2014 and recently finished my Master of Public Health in Community Nutrition. I am also a Registered Dietitian and love helping people discover how to make healthy eating a pillar in their busy lives. My philosophy for nutrition is grounded in the idea that whole foods should make up the bulk of your diet. I also strongly believe that balance is key – enjoy the healthy foods, and enjoy the not-so-healthy foods once in a while too. You’ll also notice that most of my recipes are plant-based. I’m not a vegetarian but enjoy eating more of a plant-based diet (and someone’s gotta eat the recipes I make). I also believe that we can all use a little more veggie in our lives.
Some of my favourite things (other than trying out new recipes) include: farmers markets, orchards, pugs (and every other smooshy-faced dogs), arts and crafts, birthday cake and Mexican food.
Thanks for stopping by – stay a while!
